Four Rooms of Change

About Mike

Mike Cook designs and delivers leadership development, team learning and organizational change interventions for global matrix organizations across Asia Pacific. It was while seeking a simple but yet powerful organizational diagnostic to  support his work with real-time strategic change that Mike came across and fell in love with the Four Rooms of Change theory and the Organizational Barometer from the Swedish psychologist, Claes Janssen and the rest – as they say – is history.

As a father of three, it was only a question of time before Mike discovered some of the extraordinary successes with the Four Rooms of Change in preventing bullying in schools and developing emotional intelligence in kids. He is now committed to bringing the approach into primary and secondary schools here in Australia.

Workshop Overview

Creating a Positive School Culture - A Journey through the Four Rooms of Change

Creating a positive school culture is a fundamental element of any strategy to help kids develop social and emotional competence, to deal with mental health issues in education and to prevent bullying in and outside of the classroom. Developing a deeper of understanding of the dynamics of personal and organizational change is invaluable when it comes to managing ourselves, coaching others and leading our school communities through the transformation process.

In this workshop, we will go on a journey through the Four Rooms of Change model from the Swedish psychologist, Claes Janssen. We will get to know each of the rooms, the doors, the movement through the rooms and the transitions from one room to the next. Finally the group will explore how the theory of the Four Rooms of Change can apply in a broader system; at the individual, group and organizational level.

As Kurt Lewin once said, ‘There is nothing so practical as a good theory.’ And this is the most practical theory of personal and organizational change you will ever see. We guarantee it!
