Positive Schools mental health and wellbeing conferences support the development of social and emotional wellbeing in all young Australians. The conference aims to foster increased wisdom of youth mental health issues with a clear focus on developing sustainable school based solutions and initiatives. Moreover, Positive Schools promotes the prioritization of social and emotional competency as a foundation for positive educational outcomes.

Positive Schools conferences provide educators and health professionals with grounded strategies to address the increasing number of mental health issues faced by children and teens in modern Australian society.  Our main conference days are primarily aimed at teachers, school counsellors and other professionals involved in the development of school based mental health.  In addition, our pre-conference special Masterclasses aim to offer an unbridled opportunity to see Australia’s top experts in a given field present classroom based solutions and participate in an expert led Q&A panel. In 2012 our Masterclass ‘Eyes Wide Open’ focuses on finding sustainable and realistic solutions to issues of s*xuality in the classroom.

Each conference provides teachers with the much needed opportunity to gain motivation and inspiration as well as vital strategies to take into schools and colleges.  It also provides the opportunity for teachers and other education professionals from all levels, to freely share ideas and information within a nurturing environment.

Our keynote presenters are all internationally acclaimed speakers with expertise in youth mental health.  Each has been selected for their inspirational quality and for their ability to provide sustainable and tangible solutions to mental health issues.  In addition, optional conference workshops offer opportunity to acquire tangible and grounded strategies across a broad range of social and psychological topics.

Positive Schools is the premier educators’ conference for the promotion of wellbeing in Australian schools and colleges.  More than 1500 delegates attended Positive Schools 2011. More than 70% of those completing feedback forms stated that they would like to immediately enroll for 2012, before the announcement of any confirmed speakers. Since that time we already have internationally recognized speakers confirmed for 2012. These include Melinda Tankard Reist, Professor Elizabeth Handsley, Bernadette Black, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, Dr Andrew Fuller, Toni Noble and Channel Ten’s top anchor woman Sandra Sully. As such we expect over 700 delegates at each of the WA, QLD and VIC events giving a total of 2100 conference delegates Australia wide.

Positive Schools: an opportunity to be delighted, inspired and informed.
