We are pleased to announce that Associate Professor Sean Hood from the University of Western Australia will be giving a presentation at the 2010 Positive Schools Conference

 

 

Dr Sean Hood MBBS MSc FRANZCP is Associate Professor in Clinical Psychopharmacology, School of Psychiatry & Clinical Neurosciences (M521), The University of Western Australia, Perth, Australia.

Dr Hood is Chair of the WA Psychotropic Drug Committee (WAPDC) and a member of WA Therapeutics Advisory Group (WATAG). He is a member of the RANZCP Boards of Research and Research Education Foundation and has a keen interest in teaching medical students and junior doctors.

Dr Hood is a psychiatrist in academic, public and private practice. He leads a public hospital anxiety disorders’ clinic at Bentley Hospital as part of his role as General Practice Liaison Psychiatrist. His private practice at Sentiens Clinic in West Perth focuses on medication therapies for anxiety and mood disorders.  A major area of academic research interest is the neurobiology of anxiety and mood disorders. His recent research includes investigating neurotransmitter mechanisms in clinical anxiety disorders and hypertension by pharmacological challenge.
