Wise Solutions is proud to announce that Holistic Kids, presented by Natalie Crabb, will be presenting a trade display at the Positive Schools 2009 Mental Health and Wellbeing conference.
Now, more than ever, we as parents are concerned with our children’s development, not just physically and intellectually but emotionally and socially as well. We all want happier, healthier, brighter and emotionally balanced children.
To date there’s been a lack of programs that provide the tools to teach our children how to harness and express their own unique talents and abilities and help them to lead a happier and more content life.
Holistic Kids has developed an Australian first and only physical, intellectual, emotional and social wellbeing course in one package!
Welcome to the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Social (PIES) wellbeing program!
Through the use of yoga and breathing exercises, children’s bodies are strengthened; suppleness is retained, inner knowing and inner “listening” skills are developed leading to healthier and fitter children.
The wonder of Right Brain Training is then introduced to activate and increase the all-powerful yet seldom used right side of the brain bringing about greater intellectual speed and prowess.
Children are then encouraged to recognise and release emotional issues like feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety and hurt. Children are not immune to the difficult situations experienced in life; these could come in the form of loss, friendship issues, bullying and lifestyle changes. Children express their emotional hurts through the aid of painting, drawing, acting/drama and journal writing. They are then taught the techniques to calm and centre the mind, to cultivate happier and more loving feelings which will ultimately boost their self-esteem and self-worth!
The program runs for eight weeks per school term and is suitable for children aged 2 to 12 years. Children are grouped into the age categories of 2-4 year olds, 5-7 year olds and 8-12 year olds. The classes are small in number; between 4 and 6 children with one parent each, this offers a more personalised experience and a great bonding opportunity between parent and child.
