About Jo

Jo Wiese is a registered psychologist and trained teacher with a passion for Positive Psychology and Positive Education. She is an Associate Trainer with the Institute of Positive Education at Geelong Grammar, and also facilitates workshops privately in schools on staff and student wellbeing.

Working as a school psychologist for 17 years, she has implemented many evidence-based wellbeing programs, initiated wellbeing policies and created staff-wellbeing professional learning. She has also presented several conference workshops.

Jo has published a children’s book with psychologist Steve Wells, to assist children to overcome night-time fears.

Jo and her husband have two teenage daughters and an (almost) teenage son, and Jo currently holds the position of Chair of School Board for an Independent Public School.

Jo recently created a 20-minute mini-documentary featuring student advice and opinion about student-wellbeing and positive education. It features Australian students (including Geelong Grammar students) and expert commentary and advice from Dr Helen Street and Professor Tal Ben-Shahar. Jo has presented this film for whole-school professional learning and to the 2017 PESA Conference.
