The aim of this workshop is to provide principals and school leaders with ideas, tools and strategies to establish and maintain whole school wellbeing and a positive work environment.
The World Health Organisation states that the workplace has a significant impact on the physical, mental, economic and social wellbeing of workers, and in turn, the health of their families, communities and society. Whole school wellness can increase productivity, reduce stress and positively influence staff morale.
Participants will discover why staff wellbeing is so important and will have the opportunity to explore what a mentally healthy school looks like; what are the positive attributes of a healthy workplace and how can they be achieved. During the session participants will examine protective and risk factors for staff and gain insight into how they can proactively support staff to increase resilience.
The session offers practical strategies for principals and leaders facing the challenge of supporting the immediate needs of staff experiencing mental health difficulties, whilst developing longer term plans for embedding a model that promotes and supports sustainable, whole school wellbeing.
